The Present Perfect Tense is formed:

     Subject +Helping Verb Have/has + Third form of the verb (Past participle) +object+ .

 

  e.g :   She has invited you.

            I have visited that city many times.

            He has just finished the work.

            She has worked in the bank for three years.

            It has rained a lot this week.

             Our team has won the final.

POSTIVE  (Affirmative)   Subject + Helping Verb + has /have+ third form of the verb +object+ .

 

NEGATIVE  :   Subject +Helping Verb has/have + Not +Third form of the verb+ object+.

 

Interrogative:  Helping Verb has/have + subject + Third form of the verb +Object + ?

Note :

* Subjects like   He, she, It , (singular Name)  take  helping verb  has

 * Subjects like They, we You, I ( Plural names ) take  helping verb have

 

 

THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE USES

The PRESENT PERFECT TENSE has many uses:

·         Action started in the past continuing in the present.

e.g.:  Asad has worked in the bank for five years.

          I have visited this place before.

 

When we announce a piece of News:

e.g. :  Our Team has  won the Final.

          Doctors have arrived.

 

·          An action which was completed in the very recent past expressed by (just) :

e.g. :  Sara has just finished her homework.

            We have just called them.

 

·          Actions finished in an unspecified period between the past and now :

e g :  I have visited that place many times.

          I have watched this movie several times.

 

·         When the time period referred to has not finished:

e.g :  It has rained a lot in this week.

 

·         When the precis time of the action is not important or “not known”

e.g :   I have enjoyed coffee .

           Someone has told you !

            I have read the book “ Broken Wings”

 

·         When the time period referred to has not finished

e.g :     I have not seem him today.

             She has not completed the assignment yet.
