 What are possessive Adjectives?

We use possessive adjectives to express who owns (or ‘possesses’) something. 

Or

Possessive Adjectives are words  typically used to modify a noun to indicate ownership. 

In English, there are eight possessive adjectives: 

“my,” 

“your,” 

“her,”

 “his,” 

“its,” 

“our,” 

“their,” 

and “whose.” 

Remember:

A possessive adjective is used in front of a noun (a thing). For example:

1.   I lost my pen yesterday.

2.  He broke his arm in the final match.

3.  What is your address?

4.  Our team played well.

5.  The company updated its policy .

6. Your shirt is dashing.

8.  Their car broke down in the way.

9. His car looks brand new.

10. Your guest room was comfortable.
