THE  FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE

Future continuous Tense is formed:

     Subject +  will be +Base form of the verb +ing+object+.

 

1.     She will be waiting for us    

2.     She will be playing tennis at 10am tomorrow, don’t wait for her.

3.    Aunt won't be watching TV at 9pm tonight.

4.    What will you be doing next Sunday?

5.     Will she be waiting for us?

6.    He will be practicing at gym, don’t call him.

7.    It will be raining at night, as the weather indicates.

8.    We will be taking our first paper tomorrow.

 

 

POSTIVE (Affirmative)   Subject + will be + base form of the verb +ing +object+ .

 

NEGATIVE :   Subject + Will+ Not +be+ base form of the verb+ing+ object+.

 

Interrogative:    Will + subject + be+ base form of the verb +ing+object+?

Contraction with Future Continuous/progressive

When we use the Future Continuous tense in speaking, we often contract the subject and WILL:

THE FUTURE CONTNUOUS TENSES  USES

This tense has many uses:

1.     The future continuous tense expresses an action that will be in progress at a specific point in the future.

 

·        It will be raining tomorrow at this time.

·        We will be celebrating a party on Sunday.

·        Don’t call him because he is taking a rest at this time.

·        I will be working between 11.00 to 12.30 am, so do not wait for me.

·        I will be reading a novel tonight.

·        She will be sleeping at this time, so call her at 5.00pm.

·        I am sorry, I cannot come to the party, I will be taking my paper.

 

 

2.     The Future continuous tense can be used for predicting or guessing about future events.

 

·        He will be coming to the party, I expect.

·        I guess the workers will be thirsty as they are working so long.

·        You will be missing my recipes which you enjoyed here.
