Phrasal Verbs


A phrasal verb is a combination of words (a verb + a preposition  or adverb)   used together and gives a special meaning called phrasal verb.

 e.g.
                                            Bring up
                                            Break down
                                            Break into
                                           Give up
                                           Knock out
                                           Kick off
                                           Put on
                                           Blow up

 How to use a phrasal verb in a sentence  the phrasal verbs are used as main verbs but we must know the meaning of it.

For example. Give up is phrasal verb which gives a unique meaning to
 quite or  leave  .
                               He gave up smoking.
 As here is a phrasal verb  Break down  which means( machine or motor vehicle) suddenly cease to function.
                                                     The machine broke down after 20 minutes

·         Figure out – Understand or solve something
